The AMMS System is a (encrypted) secured network, to connect this to a User Interface like a PC a peripheral is needed. The USB (Powered) Router or RS232 Router is the link between the AMMS system and the User Interface. It contains a USB or RS232 connection and can be connected to a Toughbook (if AMMS C2 is installed). The USB Powered Router no longer requires an external battery system, which means the router can be directly connected to the X-bee antenna without the use of an external battery. The benefits are a reduction in weight and the size of the system making it more compact. Connection is high speed, compatible with firmware upgrades and real-time audio. The benefit is added connection security since the RS232 cable can be tightly fastened to the interface. This router does not provide a high-speed connection
The cables used for the AMMS system are compatible with every AMMS device and are easy to connect. The cables are equipped with high-end bayonet connectors for a watertight lock. They are standard 2 meters in length and constructed from highly durable material.
