Microflown AVISA exploits the benefits of its acoustic vector sensors to deliver state of the art capabilities for the artillery of NATO countries and their allies in for both sound ranging and vehicle survivability

Sound ranging:
As compared to conventional sound ranging capabilities, the Mobile Sound Ranging Array has some major advantages:

  • Small footprint sensor nodes, allowing installation on mobile platforms like ground vehicles, multi-copters and fixed wing drones.
  • Capturing not only launches and impacts, but also 3-D shockwaves of supersonic ballistic rounds.
  • Unattended use, unlocking substantial savings on required manpower.

For peace time training purposes, the Acoustic Target Impact Localization System (ATILS) can be used to train both shooters and forward observers.

For conflict scenario’s, various firmware exist:

  • To support a weapon location radar:
  • Alerting and cueing radars.
  • Low level comparison of both 3-D radar and acoustic tracks

To replace a weapon location radar:

  • Target acquisition
  • Predicting impact
  • Fire control

Vehicle survivability:
Next to that, Microflown AVISA will present both its vehicle based CASTLE, a hard wired subarray of acoustic vector sensors, and the growing range of sheer firmware defined capabilities that can be loaded on the CASTLE.

Stand-alone capabilities include:

  • Localization of small arms fire
  • Localization of 35-50 mm board canons

Networked applications include:

  • Tracking of heavy ground vehicles
  • 3D localization of helicopters and drones
  • Collaborative protection
  • Manned-unmanned teaming
